Abstract

The uncertainty over the risks of engineering and the threat of monopolisation of biodiversity and food crops can be daunting for many iwi.

This paper looks at possible strategies that whanau, hapu, and iwi can use to counteract the risks of biocolonisation of taonga food and biodiversity through using a Marae-based GE-Free Environmental Management System.
